I am
in Basle, Switzerland on board the riverboat that will be our home for a week. Richard couldn't be persuaded to join us, but I have found a nugget of pleasure in being single - 'my cabin, my rules' - no mess, snoring, farting, no sport on TV, my music, I'm in charge of the air-con and essential make-up and
toiletries on every counter in the shower room. Bliss. Carole is calling my
cabin 'the pit' because her and Tim are upper deck people, don't you know. I'm calling it the pod, because I feel cosy and cuddled and I love it. The ship is new - this is just the 2nd voyage- and its very..
well... shipshape! Enjoyed a nice glass of bubbly in the bar before dinner.
